We
are looking for serious information about the school
but it seems hard to find
- can you contribute?
Its
history, famous scholars, or just general information.
Whatever - we need your support and ideas.
As soon as we have something, we will publish
it.
If you have any photos for us to include, click
here for more info.
In the meantime, below are a couple things to note.
(2008 Feb. 20th) A
BBC request -
email
I am researching for a
documentary called ‘Playground Britannia’. Its being made for BBC4
by Testimony Films. The programme will trace trends in childhood
play and games throughout the last century. At the moment I am sending
out appeals to try and find people that could provide us with stories
of their childhood. We need a range of people. We’re looking for
people that were children in the first few decades of last century
up until children of the eighties. I found your site and I wondered
whether there would be any chance of advertising our appeal. This
is a genuine request for your help.
If that is possible my number is 0117 925 8589 Many thanks, Emily
Sivyer - www.testimonyfilms.com
(2007 November) A question
from Tim Anderson (Teacher at Kingsfield) -
email
My name is Tim Anderson.
I am currently a teacher/governor at Kingsfield. This year we commemorated
the fallen of the First World War, and succeeding wars through reading
In Flanders Fields, watching a powerpoint slide show, and then reading
Aftermath in assembly on Monday 12th November. A colleague wondered
if we could find out a roll of honour for 1914 -1918 of those who
fell and had been at the school. So, with next year in mind, I have
begun to think about reading those names (of course many of the
surnames will be identical to our current pupils'). Was Kingswood
Grammar extant then?
